Conference "Debate on the future of power engineering” |

A conference entitled "Debate on the future of power engineering" will be organised within the frames of the project "Plan Rozwoju Politechniki Częstochowskiej" cofunded from the European Social Fund (ESF). The conference will be held in the period May 4÷7, 2010 in Wysowa.

Lecture Summary
Climate change is happening now. Greenhouse gas emissions have to be cut drastically. But by how much ? Is it realistic ? Will it be difficult ? Does it mean going back to the Middle Ages ? And what will it cost ? In January 2009, McKinsey & Company issued the report "Pathways to a Low-Carbon Economy", presenting an updated version of their already famous Abatement Cost Curve. What does the curve really tell us about our future ? Is there a hidden message ? |
