The inaugurating meeting for students studying or beginning their studies at EFE was held on Friday 1.10.2010 in room B1 at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. The meeting for II year students took place at 10 a.m., while freshers met at 1230 p.m. The meeting was chaired by EFE directors - prof. Stanisław Drobniak and Dr Elżbieta Moryń – Kucharczyk. Vice – Dean Prof. Zbigniew Domański, responsible for teaching at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science presented the Faculty activities and greeted students in the name of faculty Dean.
The group of 16 second year and 7 first year students participating in the meeting, could meet the tutors of particular courses:
- dr. Dariusz Asendrych (Computer Modelling and Simulation - CMS),
- dr. Piotr Pachura (Bussines and Technology - BT),
- dr. Rafał Kobyłecki (Intelligent Energy - IE),
- dr. Magdalena Zabochnicka-Światek (Biotechnology for Environmental Protection - BI).
as well as Renata Bolkowska from Centre For International Relations.
Tutors presented the characteristics of their courses as well as employment perspectives. Prof. Stanisław Drobniak presented the teaching scheme developed at EFE, then freshers had the opportunity to present themselves to teaching staff and to explain their motivation for entering EFE studies. The dominant motivation was the interest in English as the teaching language and the better employment perspectives.
The meeting was also attended by academic teachers responsible for the first course:
- Mathematics: prof. Zbigniew Domański and dr. Jolanta Błaszczuk
- English and Communication Skills - mgr Zofia Sobańska
- Mechanics - dr Marcin Kubiak
During the meeting Prof. Stanisław Drobniak presented diplomas for Michał Bochenski and Anita Paśnikowska, who are the best students of second semester of EFE studies. All the students received EFE advertising materials prepared by Centre for International Relations as well as the "Information package for students entering EFE" elaborated by EFE staff.

EFE – evaluation of 2nd semester |
|
|
|
We present with pleasure the results of 2nd semester of EFE students: the gold medal was won by Michał Bocheński from Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Protection, silver medal is for Anita Paśnikowska from Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science Faculty, while bronze belongs to Katarzyna Just from Management Faculty. Michał is for the first time on podium and he jumped just to the very top, Anita and Katarzyna are well familiar with best locations as it is the second semester of their presence at the podium.
Congratulations are not only for the best, all of our students are winners because EFE studies are no doubt much more difficult than regular studying at Częstochowa University of Technology. It is not only the English language which is a language of instruction at EFE, but also due to a substantially larger number of subjects taught at EFE. One must remember however, that EFE students study three different specialities and may be awarded up to three BSc diploma for a single period of study.
We are glad that despite the much greater teaching load all EFE students achieved the average of grades which is evidently higher than on their regular Polish – taught counterparts. It confirms that English is not such a threat as one could expect and we hope the results will be even better in semesters to come. Starting from 3rd semester the Częstochowa University of Technology academic staff will be joined by guest lecturers from western Universities and it will be an opportunity to compare our grading scale with requirements applied by our colleagues at European Universities. Congratulations again and we are looking forward to meeting you in the 2010 / 2011 academic year.
