On  the 10th February 2011 at the European Faculty of Engineering the Seminar devoted to presentation of students projects  took place. The seminar was organized for students of 2nd year of all EFE profiles, who presented results obtained during the 3rd semestr specializing projects.


The Seminar programme contained  10 presentations, during the meeting only 8 of them were presented, the CMS student K. Kościuch failed to complete his project on time while student of BT profile Marta Pustuł could not present her results due to personal reasons. Each presentation was followed by the evaluation presented by project supervisor, then the questions time  followed, which enabled students to answer questions asked by memebers of Evaluation Jury. The Seminar was chaired by Dr Elżbieta Moryń – Kucharczyk, the  Evaluation Jury was as follows:
  1. Prof. S. Drobniak –  EFE responsible
  2. Dr E. Moryń – Kucharczyk – EFE deputy
  3. Prof. R. Sekret –  IE profile coordinator
  4. Dr M. Zabochnicka – Świątek –BI profile coordinator
  5. Dr D. Asendrych -  CMS profile coordinator
  6. Dr R. Kobyłecki – project supervisor for 3rd semestr of IE profile
  7. Dr K. Sokół - project supervisor for 3rd semestr of CMS profile

All multimedia presentations were delivered in English and the final grade reflected both the evaluation of project results as well as the the grade for the presentation quality, with the exception of BT profile projects, which were evaluated on the basis of contents only, due to absence of Dr Piotr Pachura – the BT project supervisor. Members of  Evaluation Jury not only were asking questions concerning the contents of the project but also pointed out the deficiencies of presentations and indicated possibile ways for future improvements. After the completion of Seminar the evaluation meeting took place and members of  Evaluation Jury agreed on the following distinctions:

  1. Anita Paśnikowska –  2nd year EFE student of   CMS profile was awarded 1st prize  for the results and presentation of the „Crankshaft – piston model”  project supervised by Dr K. Sokoł
  2. Jan Jura –  2nd year EFE student of   CMS profile was awarded 2nd prize  for the results and presentation of the „Shed model”  project supervised by Dr K. Sokoł

3.      Katarzyna Just –  2nd year EFE student of   BT  profile who  presented the results of  „Sustainable development theory and practice” project supervised by Dr P. Pachura and  Marta Zyskowska –2nd year EFE student of   BI  profile who presented the results of “The process of the acquisition of biomethane from biomass” project supervised by Dr M. Zabochnicka – Świątek – were both awarded 3rd prizes

Members of  Evaluation Jury formulated the following conclusions:

1.      EFE students presented a very good proficiency in English, which allowed them for fluent presentation and efficient discussion, the active participation and determination of students was also pointed out, that allowed to achieve interesting and valuable results, nicely presented during the Seminar

 

2.      The outcomes of the Seminar clearly revealed, that projects are an important part of profiling the students knowledge and enabling students to familiarize with most important issues concerning their future specialization

 

3.      Members of  Evaluation Jury noticed a good selection of project topics, students of CMS profile became familiar with CATIA software package, which is at present among the most advanced commercial tools used in the industry, students of BT profile learned the contemporary trends in economy and management, while students of BI and IE profiles had the opportunity to become involved in the analysis of modern technologies for environmental protection

 

4.      The experience gained so far indicates that  project  seminars motivate students to improve not only their knowledge but  also helps students to learn the more efficient means of presenting the results, members of Evaluation Jury are quite confident that future presentations will be even better
